Jake Swanson
Founder & Principal
Jake has nearly a decade of experience working within Iowa State Government, specializing in legislative & regulatory policy development, issue analysis, lobbying strategy, communications, and campaigns. Most recently, he served as lead agriculture and energy policy adviser to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds & worked directly with leadership of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship, Iowa Utilities Commission, and the Economic Development Authority/Finance Authority.
Jake has built relationships with major companies, & trade associations, in the State Capitol, and throughout Iowa. He works in a bipartisan manner to conceptualize, draft, and successfully lobby legislation, including numerous bills now signed into law.
Outside of state government, Jake has experience working on successful statewide campaigns and continues to be involved in his family’s cow/calf & row crop farm operation today. Before joining the Iowa Governor's office, Jake served as policy advisor and legislative liaison to Iowa Secretaries of Agriculture, Mike Naig & Bill Northey. He has traveled to all of Iowa’s 99 counties
Jake is a graduate of Iowa State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and holds a master's degree from Emory University.
